Portland Cement Without Additives Grade PC500-D0 (CEM I 42,5N)
Field of application:
Portland cement grade CEM I 42,5N is used for production of high-strength concrete structures, common reinforced concrete structures and prestressed concrete structures; for hydraulic engineering structures (in fresh water); for external parts of monolithic concrete of massive constructions; for shell slab in zones which are exposed to a variable water level; for airfield construction; for concreting with fast stripping; for “thermos” method winter concreting with the application of heating; for manufacture of asbestos-cement products; for road construction.

Additional information:
Portland cement grade CEM I 42,5N is produced according to the process regulations “Cement production process regulations TP-1-08”.
Products requirements are specified by ГОСТ 30515-97 “Cements. General specifications”, ГОСТ 10178-85 “Portland cement and slag portland cement. Specifications”, ГОСТ 31108-2003 “Standard Cements. Specifications”, when exporting by СТБ EN 197-1 and Lithuania national standard – LST EN 197-1. Cements compliance with these standards requirements is proved by the certificate of conformity issued by RUP “Stroitechnorm” and registered in the Belarus National Certification System.
Portland cement grade CEM I 42,5N meets health safety and ecological requirements and it has a sanitary certificate.
Portland cement has been certified regarding quality indices and safety requirements according to the European standards requirements in Belarus, Russia, and Lithuania. The enterprise has the right to mark its products with CE.
Characteristics of cement:
Portland cement grade CEM I 42,5N is a cement agent being a product of fine grinding of portland clinker (produced by burning of properly proportioned raw meal to baking) and required quantity of gypsum using wet process technology. PC raw meal consists of chalk, clay and burnt pyrites. Combining water with clinker and additives forms a workable cement paste that becomes solid in water and in air.
Alite is the major portland clinker mineral. It essentially determines high strength, hardening speed and other portland cement construction properties. Cement strength during first hardening time, salt resistance and other properties depend considerably on tricalcium aluminate content. It hydrates faster when cement mixing with water.
The difference of portland cement is fast strength gain, complete air resistance, water resistance in fresh water, good freeze resistance in mortars and concretes.
5% of gypsum are added when cement is being ground. During the hydration process, gypsum chemically binds tricalcium aluminate to a new compound – hydrated calcium sulfoaluminate and therefore retards cement setting.
The addition of gypsum speeds up the cement hardening process especially during the first days of hydration.
Portland cement chemical composition makes it possible to qualify it as freeze and corrosion resistant. Fine grinding makes it possible to produce cement with higher strength characteristics in early hardening time at the age of 28 days. Portland cement is the most freeze and corrosion resistant. It consists of increased amount of calcium aluminate and tricalcium silicate.
Portland cement grade CEM I 42,5N differs from similar cements of other plants in Cl- content. Cl- content in PC500 is 5-10 times less than standard content (0,1) and it allows to increase the operation life of concrete products because of reinforcement corrosion reduction in concrete.
